Project Description
A poster for the first ever Irish production of Cavalli’s Ormindo by the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
First performed in 1644 and set in the ancient Kingdom of Mauretania, the opera centres around the Queen Erisbe who finds herself deeply in love with two competing suitors. The poster plays on this, depicting a heart split in two or alternatively pierced with two alternating arrows.
